More traveling

OK...The last post only took and hour and a half...it takes FOREVER to upload the pictures. I´m trying to put pictures on my Facebook account too, but it seems just as slow...so I´m not sure how is the best way to get you guys to see what I´ve seen. But we´ll keep trying.

Before I get too far behind, let me tell you about where I´ve been the last week. I´ll keep putting up parts of Egypt as I get the chance, but let me catch you up. This last week I´ve been in Sweden. Okkkk...first you go to Egypt, that we understand. But then Sweden...in the winter? Are you crazy? Well, maybe, sort of...

But it was a blast! I went to visit some friends I made while I was in Guatemala. It was great! I stayed with Martin. He and I share similar tastes in music, food, movies, and the need to not be in someones pocket 24/7, so it was great! For the first time in a while I felt totally at home somewhere. It was cold, but not miserable (OK, once it was miserable), and it is a really beautiful country. Here´s a picture (bad) of Martin at his place.
Now I want to go back in the summer, when I can only imagine it is amazing! There are small lakes everywhere you turn. It´s hard to drive more than 30 minutes without seeing water.

I rented a car for a couple of days and went glass shopping. Wow the glass is beautiful. There are glass blowers all over the south central part of Sweden. It is called the ¨Crystal Kingdon¨. Martin took me into one place and said ¨should you look like a kid on Christmas morning?¨ But I love all the different things you can do with glass. Here´s a shot of the Orrefors factory, and this is just a random glass plate hanging outside as decoration!

One night we had ¨the girls¨over. It was really good to see them all. Frederica (on the right) has started school again and Maria was finishing her job and getting ready to go to China! She had a new camera, so we played.

Tuesday I left Gothenburg and came to Madrid. My spanish is here...mas o menos! But Madrid is a great place. The museums here are incredible. Yesterday I just walked around, but today I went to the Prado museum. Tomorrow, I´ll head one of the other two huge art museums, and then there are about 10 other museums I don´t think I´ll get to. Talked to Kim today, and she is not able to join me here, so I will be on my own for a few more weeks. It gets old, but I´m really getting used to it.
I´ve got to go...no really...I´ve got to go! More tomorrow, when I get tired of museums!
